Once the survey has been created, you have the option of creating your own variable name for the SPSS Export File both on the survey level and question-level using the Data Export Settings page. You can also provide some naming conventions for these variable names. Another useful feature in this is the use of Data Exclusion, which allows you to remove the data fields from your export file. The fields you have selected would not be exported in the final export file. The Data Export settings page allows you to make define the data that would be exported from the survey.

The Data Export settings page allows you to make define the data that would be exported from the survey.

In the SPSS Variable Name feature, you have 3 options:

1. SPSS Labels: Variables

2. SPSS Labels: Others Types

3. Data Exclusion

SPSS Labels: Variable

The Data Export settings page allows you to make define the data that would be exported from the survey.

In the Question Variable section, you can provide the variable names for each question in the survey. It will be helpful for your analysis. When you export the survey in the SPSS file, you will find these variables.

SPSS Labels: Other Types

In the Other Types section, you can provide the variable names for all questions in the survey at once. The question types are divided among Matrix-type and Non-matrix type and further, you can provide variables names according to all the question types whether Matrix or Non-matrix.

The Data Export settings page allows you to make define the data that would be exported from the survey.

The variables are also defined separately for each type. For all matrix-type questions, you are provided with 4 variables – Row Prefix, Column Prefix, Additional Text, Text / Comment and for non-matrix type questions, you are provided with 3 variables – Choice Prefix, Additional Text, Text / Comment.
